Selecting the correct Air Conditioner
Our Comments Installation Note
The Heron are NOT suitable for installation by the DIY installer due to the requirement of making refrigerant lines.
In most states of Australia it is a requirement by law that connection of refrigerant lines be carried out by a licensed tradesperson.
The installer will place the Condensor unit usually on the offside of the RV resting on the floor or above a strengthened wheel arch.
The Air handler is placed in an upper cupboard up to 5metres away from the Condensor.
All wiring is included.
The installer must then make 2 copper pipe refrigerant lines with flared ends (flaring instructions are included BUT pipes are NOT included) one being 1/4" and one being 3/8" dia copper pipe (the 3/8" pipe must also be insulated).
After fitting pipes the pre-charged Condensor is purged following the appropriate instructions depending on the State/Country laws that are applicable. In some State/Countries a vacuum pump will be required to adhere to the applicable laws.
Leak testing of all connections is also carried out by the recommended methods. We have been selling this product, or an earlier model, for around 12 months now. We get them in from our supplier as soon as someone orders one. These will only be sent by Courier. Due to either size, weight, or other reason. PO. Boxes are not permitted for large items.
