ALKO's Drop Down Stabiliser Legs are a modern evolution of the classic caravan corner steady, offering enhanced stability and ease of use for caravan and trailer owners. Designed to provide robust support when your vehicle is stationary, these legs improve upon traditional angled stabilisers by allowing for a vertical position, ensuring greater rigidity.
Constructed for durability, these stabiliser legs are zinc-plated and feature a 19mm hex drive and a Big Foot base plate, which together contribute to their long-lasting performance. The leg swings from its horizontal travel position to multiple locking angles, including vertical, and is secured using the quick-release red handle. For the final adjustment, a winder (not included) or a compatible socket can be used, making the setup straightforward and user-friendly.
One of the key features of these stabiliser legs is their ability to rotate through a full 180 degrees, allowing for flexible mounting options on either the left or right side of your caravan. Each stabiliser is supplied with a mounting bracket, typically welded to the chassis, and the stabiliser is then bolted to this bracket with the included bolts.
The minimum height of the stabiliser legs when set vertically is 420mm, and the available angled locking positions provide alternatives where a vertical position is not suitable. When fully extended in the vertical position, they reach up to 590mm, and this height can be further increased with the use of removable blocks if needed.
Please note that the price listed is for one corner stabiliser and the mounting bracket. The hex winder handle is not included in the package.
Tested and meet the requirements of the Recreational Vehicle Manufacturers Association of Australia, the Australian controlling body for caravan manufacturing standards.
Please note: These are to stabilise the RV only. Any extreme force (commonly caused by use as a jack or excessive drill pressure) will damage the internal gear and void warranty.
Customer feedback on this stabiliser has indicated that when used at a very shallow angle, the locating pins do not fully engage due to the leg metal behind the locating holes. If using in this situation (i.e., your van chassis is very close to the ground) you can either drill out the holes to a greater depth, or limit the force you apply to the stabiliser.
